I’m very excited to be taking part in this year’s Abergavenny Food Festival, which takes place over the weekend of the 17th-18th September. In Abergavenny, obviously.

The line-up, to use a music industry term, is (notwithstanding myself) a cracker – Fergus Henderson, Bryn Williams, Henry Harris, Valentine Warner, Signe Johansen, Angela Hartnett, Jose Pizarro, Lucas Hollweg, Bill Granger…these are all people worth heading to Wales to see in the autumn.

And then you can come to The Secret Larder Pop-Up for yer dinner. Rosie and I are running the supper club in the yurt run by the same people that run this amazing pop-up hotel at Dewsall. Here’s the menu:

Pre-starter surprise

Radish and apple salad with goat’s curd

Braised whole shin of beef

or

Beetroot risotto (V)

Chocolate, chilli, and cardamom tart, stewed damsons

Autumn salad

Beetroot-cured sea trout, pickled beetroot, horseradish, cobnuts

or

Tomato and goat’s cheese gratin (V)

7-hour lamb shoulder, seasonal vegetables

or

Potato rosti with fried Clarence Court duck egg and wild mushrooms (V)

Fig tart

***

£35 all in.

On Sunday I’ll be doing a demo with Niamh Shields, author of Comfort and Spice, in the Angel Hotel Ballroom at 11.00am. Tickets for that are £8.

All in all it’s going to be a fun weekend. Hope you can come along.

Friday Menu
