I have to say that I disagree. Although I havent been to Racine and long to, I think Chabrot offers some of the most delicious, authentic French fare in London. I thought the chips were far from oil canvases, and loved the chocolate and milk cake. How can evoking memories of licking the bowl ever be a bad thing?
I have tried the sea bas, the foie gras stuffed roast chicken, and the cabbage stuffed with veal and foie gras and the spicy squid starter. All of which I cant recommend enough- not to mention the green side salad with french dressing and pink peppercorns.
Please give it a second chance. And who orders charcuterie???
Licking the bowl was, I thought, always a good thing. But not in this case.
I know it’s not nice when somewhere you like gets panned, but on the day I went Chabrot was bad.
And as for who orders charcuterie…well, I didn’t in this case, but surely if it’s on the menu then it’s fair game for criticism?
Not sure I’m willing to give it a second chance. Sorry.
