I had this very meal t’other day but zshuzshed up slightly by wrapping the asparagus in some Parma ham and drizzling the lot with balsamic syrup. Yumm and indeed, O. I also like a fried goose egg with gammon ham, Branston pickle and some sort of crusty bread, ciabatta or whatever’s lying around.

Don’t know what goose eggs go for in these parts but in Norfolk they’re three quid for two.

Asparagus are great with boiled goose eggs too – boil for about 8 minutes (depending on the size of the egg) for a solid white and a gloriously runny yolk.
