My suggestion for next time (not that the proceedings could be in any way improved) would be to be more rigorous in the definition of ingredient – salt is too universal, cheese has too many incarnations. A debate pitting the anchovy against parmesan and the tomato would surely be a leveller playing field. (OK I guess I am saying it could be better, but was awesome…).
